[Hong Kong, September 18, 2019] Recently, Discussion between Great Bay Bio and Peng Cheng Laboratory was successfully held in Shenzhen. Mr. Kingsley Leung (Chairman of Great Bay Bio), Dr. Chen Liang (CEO of Great Bay Bio), executives of Great Bay Bio, Mr. Zou Peng (Executive Deputy Director of Peng Cheng Laboratory), Dr. Tian Li (Responsible Person for R&D Development Department of Peng Cheng Laboratory), Mr. Liu Ming (Responsible Person for New Generation AI Tech Strategic Alliance and Open Intelligence Platform Operation), etc. joined the discussion.

Before discussion, Dr. Tian Li led visitors from Great Bay Bio to visit the exhibition hall of Peng Cheng Laboratory, and briefly introduced several big projects by Peng Cheng Laboratory such as AI and Great Bay Area network future development. Peng Cheng Laboratory (also is the Provincial Laboratory for Shenzhen Cyberspace Science and Technology) development is in respect of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Guangdong development crucial suggestion by the CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping, and is to aim for satisfying needs for new innovative-driven development, to build “reserve team” for national laboratory and to build innovative Guangdong, so to push forward major planning for Shenzhen to be the leading modernized and demonstration pilot zone of communism.  The Peng Cheng Laboratory now is filled with 21 members of Chinese Academy of Engineering.

For the discussion, Mr. Liu Ming and Dr. Chen Liang thoroughly introduced their platforms so to enhance understanding for their parties. Mr. Zou said, according to the “Suggestion by the State Council of PRC for supporting Shenzhen to be the demonstration pilot zone of communism”, it supports Shenzhen to build great innovation development such as 5G, AI, cyberspace science and technology, bioinformatics, biomedical laboratory, to try building international technology information center and academy of medicine with new mechanism, and while technology combining biomedicine and AI of Great Bay Bio is included in such category, he welcomed Great Bay Bio to join Peng Cheng Laboratory for further development. Mr. Kingsley Leung, the Chairman of Great Bay Bio, said he was excited to have deep collaboration with Peng Cheng Laboratory and trusted that there would be breakthrough development for Great Bay Bio by the strong R&D capability and platform of Peng Cheng Laboratory. Two parties agree that there would be further discussion, and solid foundation for potential collaboration was laid.
