[HONG KONG, May 8, 2021] Chairman of Great Bay Bio Limited, Mr. Kingsley Leung, was invited to participate in the "Youth Novation Start-up Cmpetition" hosted by Hong Kong Youth Development Alliance. Hong Kong Youth Development Alliance (YDAHK) is committed to bringing young people together in HKSAR and providing opportunities to boost their growth. To further explore and cultivate young people with potentials, YDAHK held the finals and awarded ceremony of "Youth Novation Startup Competition" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon, which is the first annual event since its establishment, aiming to build a large-scale youth development platform, promote the entrepreneurial philosophy of college students and encourage young entrepreneurs to settle in the Greater Bay Area to broaden their horizons.
A total of 72 junior college start-up companies participated in the competition and successfully completed the audition. Finally, 10 finalists were ed to compete for 8 awards and a prize of up to HK $180,000. The jury ed the winning teams based on five criteria: innovation, market potential and business model, traction and development plan, team management ability and social influence.
In the opening speech, Mr. Lau Ken-sen, chairman of YDAHK and chairman of HeungKong Financial Group shared that the Mainland and Hong Kong governments had set up a number of subsidy schemes to help entrepreneurs enter the Greater Bay Area such as "The Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme" and "The Youth Development Fund". This Youth Novation Startup Competition also responded to the concept of the Hong Kong government, "We hope that Youth Novation Startup Competition will be developed into a cross-regional competition in the future so that young students in Hong Kong can know more young entrepreneurs who share the same interests."
The competition was supported by a professional judgment team. The team consists of successful entrepreneurs, executives and professionals from well-known enterprises. They all boasts rich and experienced venture capitalists in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and the Mainland of China. Mr. Kingsley Leung, chairman of Great Bay Bio Holdings Limited, was invited to the event and gave comments to and shared insights with the participants.
